What steps can I take?

• Keep grass clippings, leaves, fire pit ashes and pet waste out of the lake.
• Limit lawn fertilizing and use phosphorus-free fertilizer; never fertilize within 50 feet of the lake.
• Reduce boat speed near the shoreline and in shallow water. High speeds near the shoreline increase shoreline erosion and stir up the lake bottom.
• Be sure to hire DNR Certified Lake Service Providers for your shoreline projects, and Dock and lift service.
• Restore your shoreline to a native state using native plants and buffer strips, build a rainwater garden.
